Cold-Formed Steel and Delegated Design for Contractors
Specifications increasingly push design responsibility to the contractor. When your scope says “design by a licensed engineer,” Rise Structural Group is the engineer. We provide sealed delegated design packages for cold-formed steel and other contractor-designed elements on projects across Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and Maryland, and remotely for projects beyond that.
Cold-formed steel (light gauge) framing
- Load-bearing CFS wall, floor and roof framing
- Exterior backup walls, parapets, soffits and canopies behind brick, EIFS, metal panel and fiber cement
- Headers, jambs, sills, bridging, bracing and connections to the primary structure
- Sloped and curved roof framing and complex geometry
- Panelized and modular CFS systems
- Sealed shop drawings and calculations, reviewed for the engineer of record’s approval
Other delegated design
- Structural steel connections, gravity and moment
- Temporary bracing and shoring for walls, trusses and excavations
- Rooftop unit, duct, pipe and equipment supports
- Steel stairs, railings and miscellaneous metals
- Mezzanines and equipment platforms
- Anchorage of equipment and architectural elements
Why contractors call us
We have been the engineer of record on the other side of these submittals, so we know what the reviewing engineer wants to see and how to get a package approved without three rounds of comments. Our drawings are produced in Revit and coordinate with the primary structure. We answer RFIs the same day where we can, and we visit the site when a field condition needs an engineer’s eyes.
