Shawn Graham is the Founder, President, and Principal Structural Engineer of Rise Structural Group, a Pittsburgh-based structural engineering firm serving architects, developers, contractors, and owners throughout the Mid-Atlantic and beyond. With over two decades of experience in structural design and project delivery, Shawn has served as Engineer of Record on projects spanning multi-family, mixed-use, commercial, institutional, educational, parking, residential, renovations, and adaptive reuse markets.
Shawn holds a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering (Structural Emphasis) from Penn State University and is licensed as a Professional Engineer in multiple states. Throughout his career, he has led the structural design of a wide range of projects, from large-scale mixed-use developments to adaptive reuse and specialty structures, with a focus on constructability, coordination, and practical engineering solutions. Rise Structural Group was formed alongside longtime colleagues, bringing an established team dynamic built through years of prior collaboration.
As Principal Structural Engineer, Shawn oversees engineering operations, quality control, and strategic growth for Rise Structural Group. He works closely with project teams to ensure structural designs are technically sound, well-coordinated, and responsive to project goals, schedules, and budgets. The firm leverages Revit and Building Information Modeling (BIM) to support precise documentation, real-time coordination with architects and MEP consultants, and early conflict resolution during design.
Outside of work, Shawn enjoys coaching one daughter’s travel softball team, supporting his other daughter’s competitive dance schedule, and spending time traveling with his family.
